Powder-coated steel is the ideal material for metal changing room lockers
Steel is the ideal material for a changing room locker. DIVIKOM only processes High quality sheet steel. The decisive advantages lie in the extremely rational processing and maximum stability, which results in a high degree of dimensional stability. No other material offers as much resistance to external influences as steel.
These advantages are not jeopardised by the metal's tendency to corrode. As a changing room locker has to be provided with a colour coating anyway, this can also serve as corrosion protection. DIVIKOM uses the tried and tested powder coating process here. At around 180 degrees, the colour powder literally burns into the metal surface during the melting process, resulting in an inseparable bond. In addition, no solvents are released, which can be seen as a contribution to environmental protection.
Another not insignificant contribution to safety is fire protection, which is ensured by steel. Steel furniture is regarded as active fire protection in buildings, as it prevents the spread of fire.
The metal changing room locker and its basic features
No matter which model variant you choose, at DIVIKOM you can buy all changing room lockers at very favourable prices. The following features, which also relate to the area of security against destruction and forced entry attempts, are standard features.
- Small gap dimensions
Due to the high-precision processing Doors and door frames with very small gaps can be worked. As a result, there is no opportunity for breaker tools to get in the way. It also supports the balanced design.
- Ventilation system
Automatic ventilation and air extraction is also part of the Standard equipment. No energy is consumed in the process. The air exchange is achieved by the so-called chimney effect. For this purpose, air openings have been made in the hat shelf base and on the back and top of the cabinet. The function is so effective that clothes dry even when the door is closed. However, forced ventilation is also possible.
- Double-walled doors
All doors are supplied in a double-walled design. The high torsional rigidity achieved in this way also helps to prevent forced openings. On the other hand, a clean all-round closure is ensured. The additional inner wall also prevents twisting when the door is open due to intentional or unintentional use of force.
- Internal pivot bolts
Concealed, internal pivot pins also help to prevent attempts to open the door by force. Hammers, pliers or crowbars cannot gain access here either.
- Opening limiter and rubber buffer
In changing rooms and especially with children and teenagers, impetuous behaviour can quickly lead to doors being overstretched when they are open. To prevent this, all doors are fitted with opening limiters. Nevertheless, an opening of approx. 100 % is ensured.
In contrast to opening, closing is often associated with a lot of noise. Noise protection is environmental protection and therefore indispensable. Rubber bumpers fitted all round ensure quiet in the changing room.
- Lock systems
Another very important point is the secure storage of changing room locker contents using appropriate locking systems. Our lockers for changing room facilities are fitted with a cylinder lock as standard. This includes two keys.
Alternatively, the good old twist lock can also be supplied in conjunction with a padlock. Coin deposit locks are another option. In line with the current trend to favour electronic solutions, corresponding lock variants are increasingly being requested and supplied by us ready for use.
Equipment and areas of application
There is an extensive range of models available for changing room lockers, which are also offered in several equipment variants. Here is a brief summary:
- Changing room lockers with steel doors
They are available with a plinth or 4 feet. The inner wall of the door can also be perforated and fitted with an additional hook. There is a hat shelf at the top and a clothes rail with three movable hooks underneath.
- Changing room lockers with wood decor
In addition to steel doors, doors can also be supplied in various wood or plain colours, as well as in MDF, HPL or melamine.
- Divided changing room lockers
These include space-saving variants such as horizontally divided cupboards or Z-cupboards. Two people can share one wardrobe. However, these models are also ideal for so-called "black and white separation". Work clothes do not come into contact with leisure clothes. The Z-design has the advantage that long items of clothing can be hung up in full length despite the partitioning.
- Dimensions
All changing room lockers are 1800 mm high and 500 mm deep. There are three versions for the width - 300, 350 and 400 millimetres.
- Changing room lockers for schools
The only difference here is in the height dimensions, which are available in several sizes.
