"Chemical cabinets", which are also known as "environmental cabinets", are subject to special requirements in terms of design and function. During design and development, DIVIKOM took all relevant features into account in order to protect the environment in every respect and prevent unauthorised access. All cabinet designs are suitable for the storage of non-flammable chemicals and toxic substances, with special fittings primarily serving to protect the groundwater from contamination.
The Chemicals cabinet can also be labelled "hazardous materials cabinet" depending on the area of application. In all three cases, however, the same type of cabinet is meant.
The body, shelves and doors are made of robust quality sheet steel, which guarantees a long service life. The entire construction is joined together precisely using the tried-and-tested spot welding process. This enables distortion-free components with minimal gaps. A decisive prerequisite for this is the precise production of the individual elements on modern CNC machines and systems. Sharp edges are completely eliminated here and triple edging contributes to stability, but also helps to prevent injuries.
All doors are fitted with ventilation slots at the top and bottom to prevent vapours from accumulating in the enclosure. In addition, the double-walled design of the door leaves, with perforated inner wall, contributes significantly to stability and torsional rigidity. We can also equip these cabinets with an exhaust air system in accordance with the specifications you submit. The pivot bolts have been moved inwards to prevent injuries and violent attempts to open them. All door stop surfaces are fitted with rubber buffers. This also prevents unnecessary noise pollution.
An interior designed for practical use and safety is crucial for an environmental cabinet. For this reason, drip pans with a capacity of 15 litres ensure that nothing can escape, even in the event of leaks. Contamination of groundwater or materials stored on the floor is therefore ruled out.
Shelves with drip trays
The shelves are perforated over their entire surface, but this does not reduce their stability, as the load capacity is still 60 kg! The perforation ensures immediate drainage of any liquid into the drip tray, resulting in a permanently dry surface of the shelf. Containers and packaging therefore run no risk of coming into contact with leaking media. This arrangement also means that the collection volume of the tray cannot be reduced by containers and packaging.
In the basic version, each chemical cabinet has 5 shelves with a drip tray. The height of the shelves can be freely selected, with a grid of 25 millimetres.
Double-walled doors
Like the shelves, the inner wall of the doors is also made of perforated sheet metal. This makes it possible to store cloths or cleaning tools in a hanging position. An A4 document folder, which you can order as an accessory, can also be attached. This can be used to store safety and application instructions or the contents and removal lists for the environmental cabinet.
The colouring is carried out using the evaluated powder coating process. The special features of this environmentally friendly process are in line with the special tasks of an environmental cabinet for Operating facilities. This is because the powder coating does not require any solvents and therefore does not release any vapours into the environment. In addition, the paint surface of the shelves is so hard that moving containers and packaging hardly leads to any wear and tear. As the colour coating is resistant to solvents, it can hardly be attacked by any chemicals.
The standard colour for the body is light grey RAL7035 and yellow RAL1023 for the doors.
All enclosures are fitted with assembly openings on the sides so that stable connections can be made to other enclosures or to entire rows of enclosures.
Environmental cabinets must be equipped with secure locking systems. Our standard version consists of a cylinder lock with a sturdy rotary handle for secure three-point locking. This always includes two keys. There are 2000 combinations available for a locking system, which can be operated with one master key.
Two sizes for the chemical cabinet
Size 1 has a height of 1950 millimetres.
Size 2 follows with a height measurement of 1150 millimetres.
All other dimensions are identical: width 920 and depth 400 millimetres. The plinth height is 80 millimetres. The plinth can also be fitted with individual feet, whereby adjustable height levelling is also possible.
