What does folding and bending mean?
Folding or bending is a non-cutting forming process. The sheet metal is positioned on a press brake and brought to a defined angle using an upper and lower tool. This creates profiles, angles and complex sheet metal shapes.
Modern CNC press brakes control the bending angle, bending force and stop position electronically. This allows:
- Simple bends
- Multiple folded components
- Tight bending radii
- Complex transformations
with high repeatability and dimensional accuracy.
